Privacy Policy

When you sign up we store your account identifier and the sign-in method you used: email address and password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), a Google or Apple account identifier, or a phone number for one-time-code sign-in. We do not receive or store your Google/Apple password.

Your profile holds a username, display name, optional first and last name, bio, avatar and cover image, and optional education details (institution, faculty, department, level). Education details are always optional. Interests you select are stored to personalise recommendations.

We store the posts, polls, comments, reactions, shares and YuStatus items you create, along with timestamps and the visibility you chose. YuStatus items expire automatically. View counts are recorded so creators can see reach.

YuChat conversations, messages, attachments, reactions and read receipts are stored so your conversations sync and continue across sessions. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted; they are protected by access controls that limit them to conversation members.

We store communities you create or join, your membership role, invites, and community rules and files.

Avatars, cover photos, post media, status media and community files are stored in private storage and served through short-lived signed links, so they are only reachable by people allowed to see the surrounding content.

We store courses, subjects, topics and lessons you engage with, study plans, completion status, progress and time spent, learning sessions and achievements. Time spent is a core progress metric in YuLearn.

Your Lileo conversations and messages are stored so you can return to them, together with basic usage counts. To generate replies, your prompt and limited profile context (such as display name and, where present, education details) are sent to third-party AI model providers. Lileo does not read your private messages.

Our infrastructure processes standard technical data such as IP address, browser/device type and request timestamps to deliver the service, keep sessions valid and prevent abuse.

We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as theme and the position of the Lileo control. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We record in-product activity events and daily activity summaries (for example active days and session activity) to understand usage, improve features and generate recommendation signals. These are used in aggregate.

We store your notifications, notification preferences and — if you enable push — the device token needed to deliver push messages. You can turn notification categories off in Settings.

If you invite someone, we store the invitation and referral record to credit it. We do not upload your contact list.

We keep your data while your account is active. Deleting content removes it from the product; residual copies may remain in backups for a short period. Deleting your account removes your profile and associated content, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.

Data is encrypted in transit, media is stored in private buckets with signed access, and row-level access rules restrict every table so users can only reach data they are allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

You can access and edit your profile, adjust privacy settings, block or mute accounts, export or delete your content, and delete your account. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, port or erase your data — email us to exercise them.

We rely on providers for hosting and databases, authentication (including Google and Apple sign-in), SMS delivery for phone codes, file storage and AI model inference for Lileo. They process data on our instructions only.

YuPage is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age where you live). We do not knowingly collect data from them, and we delete such accounts when identified. Younger teens should use YuPage with guardian or school involvement.
